I've noticed that even if I tilt my head slightly to either side (not turning from side to side to shake your head "no" or nodding, I mean like the Indian stereotype in old Bongistani movies), the horizon doesn't feel like it changed angles, even though I can see the circle of nose and eyebrows rotating in my field of view.

Can eyeballs correct for minor tilt by rotating in the opposite direction, or is this some kind of in-brain post production like how our blind spots get live-edited out with a cheesy "Photoshop clone stamp" kind of deal?

I know if you wait a split second before tilting your head the other way, the stabilization effect doesn't happen.
