My drawing is shit but I need to accomplish these two goals:

You squeeze a trigger on one object, and that should activate a mechanism to squeeze a trigger on a video game controller. The linear part means when one is squeezed the other is squeezed the same amount. So 0 - 100% at the same time.

Imagine Squeezing pic related (lever 1). Now think of an xbox 360 trigger on the back of the controller (lever 2). When you squeeze lever 1, lever 2 will be squeezed by a 3D printed mechanism. I want to make the mechanism. I'm looking for someone with an engineering background to say: that is called a X mechanism. I found this PDF from a rapid prototyping course online, I'm trying to narrow that down myself in the meantime http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/academic/class/15394u-s17/resources/cabaret_mechanical_movement.pdf

Pic related, had the jannies not cucked me with a IP range ban. That's it. That is the complete mechanism. Just design a holder for the bike handbrake cable "shell" and then attach the actual inner wire to the controller trigger.

I can’t make out much from your initial drawings, but it sounds like you’re wanting to press one trigger and have a second trigger somewhere else also compress (or actuate as I’d like to say). Without knowing the geometry of the situation, how much force you’re needing to apply to the triggers, how far apart they’ll be, what material they’re made of, how quick you want the second trigger to actuate upon pressing the first, and other details (such as does a half press of he first trigger give no result to the second or a half press?), I can’t be of a lot of help to you. If you’re struggling to come up with a way to link the two triggers try using the text I linked to just look at pictures of mechanisms, use the glossary to find an appropriate section. yes exactly

Okay it is actually a fire extinguisher. So the lever 1 is pressed downwards, then that motion will be transferred through a linkage mechanism to press the controller. I'm thinking perpendicular right now but I will do whatever makes sense.

I have no idea but I have budget for tools. I was planning on doing trial and error here

thanks for linking the book I was looking at that and got the idea of using a linkage but still grinding away
