CORE PLANKS OF THE THEORY
>our reality is not the only reality
>compare to 99.99% of worlds, our world would be considered magical, fantastical (tech, wildlife, culture, science)
>if even 0.1% of those worlds have isekai fiction, that means there are more isekai worlds than real worlds
>our world faces numerous existential threats that only a Hero could hope to resolve, such as global warming
>therefore we are almost certainly an isekai world
>and we must wait for the Hero to arrive from the real world and deliver us from evil, amen
The Isekai Hypothesis also explains a lot of weird things about theoretical physics (magic, lazy writing) and moral/social issues (designed to cause problems for the protagonist). "I F***in Love Science" types will deny this, but Isekai Theory is actually the best, most parsimonious cosmological theory we have today. I can't see any holes -- can you?
