I am going to get the details wrong. The basics was these Buddhist monks meditated a lot on human empathy and compassion.
They would give people a disgust test, like showing someone gore pics. All the normie Brain scans had a disgust response, then the monk was the lone data point way over on the upper right of the chart, showing a empathy response. This passes the sniff test to me and checks out with other research that (profoundly meaningfully btw) humans can test out hyposis and reactions COMPLETELY in their mind, so hypothetical aurgument and play acting will help you in real life situations WITHOUT having to risk the real,life situation first.
So what I am saying is the type of mediation that has you contemplate empathy and compassion might be more benifutisl than the type that try’s to get you to empty your mind.
