As an actual electrical engineer it's fucking insane how overhyped Tesla is. He only invented ONE thing. One simple engineering solution to convert AC into DC using an electromotor.

He didn't write any theory, he never did any experimental research that lead to anything. The ONLY thing he did was design a single contraption.

People talk as if Tesla was a scientist or even a revolutionary thinker. In reality he should not even be worth mentioning at all. He is by far the most known "scientific person" (he wasn't a scientist and I refuse to call him that) that contributed almost nothing. I can't think of any other famously known engineer or scientist that contributed as little as Tesla yet is still known by the average person.

I can't overstate just how little he contributed. In fact I would go out on a limb and say he didn't contribute anything as the contraption he made (AC->DC electromotor) was already established in theory and was inevitably going to be constructed once the material refinery was good enough to make reliable enough magnets to accomplish this.

I wish Tesla would be taken out of every single mention on the internet and be replaced by someone more important that isn't in the mainstream lexicon like Von Neumann.

Tesla knew about the celestials to a very very small extent not nearly as much as me. Anyways, Tesla said something about the brain experiments but I can't find it, he was talking about the horrors of electrical experimentation on the brain. He didn't really understand much about the celestials and got it mostly wrong but that's okay. Other people have gotten much closer than Tesla.

But he did so while trying to make something else and just coincidentally found it. All his other work was complete bullshit and it's obvious he had schizophrenia very early on when he wrote his bogus radio stuff. Funfact: He also didn't invent anything related to radio which is a common misconception. He invented absolutely nothing besides his single invention. The vast majority of patents he filed were for fantasy devices based on esoteric schizophrenic ideas.
