How do horns amplify sound? I can't understand the physics of it. By speaking into the small end, and the sound being louder at the wide end, wouldn't that be creating energy, in the form of sound, out of nothing? Shouldn't it be the same volume or quieter since the back side of the horn, which you speak into, deflects the sound waves?
