>>11118313>Your main motivator is just doing more maths?Doing math is comfy, and it kinda sucks doing anything else. I have fun in finance, but it is nowhere near as exciting as pure math. As I said, my goal is to go for a master to enjoy myself while also landing a prestigious university name in my resume to meme it up the corporate ladder.
>Also what exactly do you do in finances? Do you just use R to get probabilities and stuff or is it more complicated? It's not really that, maybe the folks at risk do that kind of stuff. My job is really about keeping track of the many many indicators we have to ensure we don't explode. Whenever an indicator is behaving in a way we wouldn't like it to I can either
>Directly act to improve the indicator if it is in my power to do so>Report to someone higher in case it is not in my power to act on that particular indicator. Plenty of times when an indicator is behaving badly, it will be people from above asking me to explain to them why this is happening, as I obviously have a closer understanding of what all these meme curves mean, but they have the decision making power.I just keep track of curves. If curve go down, I make curve go up.
