I remember being at a conference (ACS) watching Chinese people walking around taking pictures of every poster even thought the sign said "no photography"

The American Chemical Society, of course, never met a dangerous chemical it wasn't eager to help companies put in the environment, so I didn't have much faith they'd protect the research of their own members.

But when the office of Naval intelligence is standing there talking about their research and Chinese spies just go snapping away, I realized how truly naive scientists were..
