>>11121792Yeah i have no idea what a reasonable definition of information would be (maybe amount of fundamental particles?), but i'll do an analogy:
Let's have sets play the role of universes, a subset A of X play the role of a simulated universe inside X, and cardinality the amount of information in the universe.
If we add the restriction that all universes must be finite, then given a universe there cannot be an infinite chain of simulations inside it (or going out from it). Nor can there be a universe simulated inside X with the same amount of 'information' (so no copy of minecraft inside of minecraft as in the analogy the other guy did).
If we allow universes to have infinite cardinality (analogous to wtv i was trying to capture with infinite 'information') then there can be infinite chains of simulations, aswell as A simulated in X with the same amount of information as X (in some sense it could be seen as 'copy' of X inside X).
I'm not saying that there exists such a quantity as information (nor that it is finite in our universe), just thinking about what could happen if there was.
