Am I retarded or is .99999 = 1 completely obvious?
Math is a concept created by humans to describe the universe. If you divide something by three, it doesn't matter how you label it (10/3 =.3333, 12/3 = 4 etc.), you have a third and that's all that matters. To be clear, "10 apples" is a single entity, it's a group of 10 apples, when you divide 10 apples you divide the group of 10 apples into thirds, however we quantify the thirds does not fucking matter and if it results in some stupid infinite repeating number, that's just because it's the system we invented to show the concept not working.
If I have 10 cups of flour, made a cake with that and divided the cake by 3, how many cups of flours are in each third? What if I used base 12? It's the same amount of flour but divides cleanly. What if I used metric? It's the same amount of flour in the real world regardless of how I count it. ".3333333" is not a thing.
