What's the point of people saying that if a robot experiences love it is only because it was programmed to do so? Aren't people also programmed to feel love in a way by nature itself? What is the difference here?

I'd love for there to be some "spirit" in you that makes you more than a machine but it doesn't seem likely at all.

if there is some spirit independent of nature then it is not possible for that spirit to interact with it. It doesn't just seem unlikely, it is impossible for forces that are defined to be distinct from nature to be part of nature.
