>>11114488>Technically you would get away with out the need to get fillings or do any dental work.general dental advice: Get your dental checkups at dental/community colleges with dental hygienist schools or public health clinics that charge on a sliding scale(do it even if you have means to pay regular dentists). Why? It has been my experience that regular dentist recommend fillings and work where they are not needed. Most cavities don't need to be filled, but some do and it is better to go with someone who doesn't have an interest in the amount of dental work they say you need.
Also if you have children, they basically never have to go to the dentist unless a problem shows up, it is absolute idiocy to fill in cavities or do dental work on teeth that will fall out soon. It is more important that children avoid acidic and sugary foods and brush their teeth and floss, than it is that they go to the dentist.
If a dentist doesn't seem like a perfect angel, get the fuck out of the office.
my advice is for americans, I don't know how it is in other countries.
If you want to BTFO dentists, floss and brush your teeth before you go to sleep, every evening. Do that and your teeth won't be fucked up, and don't drink soda and if you do rinse your moth with water afterwards.
There are toothpastes that claim to remineralize such as apagard and sensodyne with novamin(not for sale in the U.S but can be orddered online and shipped to U.S) and GC paste and others. I can't vouch for them and they are pricey, but just want you to know they exist.
Dental health IS health, studies have shown old people with more of their teeth live longer than those with less. Also teeth are where bone, blood, nerves are exposed to a moist open environment with a lots spots for food and bacteria to fester
