Alive it's definitely Shelah. His paper output is ridiculous, over a thousand now. He founded classification theory, pcf theory, and proper forcing by himself. Some problems he solved include the necessity of Solovays large cardinal assumption, the independence of the Whitehead problem, Morley's problem. Basically look at any topic in set theory or model theory and he has had a profound influence.
