How spooky is cryonics? People brought back from cryonics will literally have to thaw their brains. When I freeze and thaw my meat, it tastes like shit.
Are cryonicists just future zombies?

What about in personal suffering.

Bioconservatives have a hard ceiling on the amount of suffering possible. while transhumanist chads can have an extended awful life that never gets better or never amounts to much. Not to mention that in absolute quantities transhumanist chads will spend more lifetimes in a non-positive state than bioconservatives ever had to put up with. Is it always bad to die young?

not to mention the foolishness of banking on eternal life in a limited universe and the inevitable trauma of having to recognize the impossibility of it

The problem is not with the thawing, the problem is the freezing. Ice crystals pierce the cellular walls and basically fuck your shit up. The slower the freezing, the bigger the crystals. If you were frozen very quickly you might thaw fine.

Not spooky. My desire of life extension is based solely on my desire for knowledge. I wish to live as long as possible and learn as much as I can. Living forever is, of course, impossible, but living for a thousand years would be nice. Not to mention how much interesting stuff there is on Earth.
