Math is cumulative. To understand the next level you have to fully understand the previous and so on.
Every math subject you learn - make sure you memorize the axioms. All of the theorems will then be derived and proven through those axioms and other theorems can then be proven through the use of previous theorems that have veen proven and so on. Once done that just practice, identify problems you got wrong, then work on those weaknesses.
NEVER move on to the next math topic until you 100 percent understand the previous one, because then you will have difficulty with the new topic.
Just like you will find Calc 2 difficult if you just crammed calc 1 - and because you found calc 2 difficult it will almost be impossible to pass calc 3 - the effects are cumulative the higher you go.
