If by "virtually all cases" you mean some cases, then yes. In reality, many trans people still have suicidal thoughts and are depressed post-op. This can be due to many things, but the most common reasons are that they regret chopping off their dick, they hate the new gaping gash they have to dilate every day, and they realize now there's no other alternative to being a tranny besides continue to live as one. Pre-op they had a "grass is greener" delusion, but now they have a "you're fucking stuck with this" reality. Treat your mental condition like a condition and don't indulge your disease by mutilating yourself because you'll just become another statistic. Or do it, cause it's less shit the people around you will have to deal with.

Mainly rejection from family and friends as well the stress from encountering constant trans-phobia in their day to day lives. In other words it's almost entirely external societal pressures. Despite this suicide rates are still lower post transition than pre transition.

But if you have already talked to therapists and fully sure about your decisions then go for it. Can't be worse than dealing with dysphoria I imagine.
