1. Use both focused and diffused mode thinking. Study hard for 30 minutes and then screw off for 30 minutes, repeat until complete.
2. Recall is a better method of study than rereading. Spaced repetition maximizes its efficacy.
3. Study to understand concepts into "chunks". Understanding comes by attempted explanations. Use metaphors and models, but be willing to change them as you learn more.
4. Memory tricks involve making an abstract concept visual or tactile to involve other parts of the memory. See memory palace.
The second half of the book is mostly filler just to pad out the page count and make dumb people feel better. Still pretty good.
