>>11109302>>11109306There is the Species called the Human, which has certain physical and behavioral attributes.
Then there is something called being a human, which is more of a state of being or way of life, that is enabled by those physical and psychological attributes.
The coddling of a mother, the play and fun had with a friend, the touch and look of a lover, and kindness towards a stranger?
Those things makes us, in a sense, human.
The ability to have awe to be had for things and beauties beyond ourselves, or endeavor to create such? Is a human drive.
To appreciate truths and goods in the world, and to raise ourselves in rebellion against the powers that try to impose their own, or to defy the ugly and evil to be found in the natural world? Its also human.
Things like our senses and human bodies don't need to be "useful" for us to wish to keep them. They are a good in themselves.
What you're proposing isn't raising a better species, or improving the lot of the sickly and defective. But going beyond that and pulling atom by atom a perfectly fine species apart.
