Serious question here:

Why are engineers considered gay on this board? Is it just a derogatory term from, say mathematicians and physicists, because applied science is not pure, or are a lot of engineers literally gay? I'm asking because a couple of my professors really do seem gay, but I'm not sure if it's in proportion to the rest of society.

Doesn't matter to me either way, just curious if there's some correlation there. If Jordan Peterson is right, and men are more interested in things than women, and women do better in school than men, maybe being gay would make you more prone to picking engineering and less prone to dropping out, thus making a significant proportion of engineers literally gay?
