I think God is probably real, but only in a sense of "spirit of ancestors". Just how your dad teaches you something, then you teach your daugher the same thing, she teaches her kids the same. Well God, to me, is the wisdom of endless generations. Sometimes that gets compiled in a book, that tells you more about yourself and other people, and less about the scientific reality of the world. That's why atheists who make fun of the burning bush are idiots. It's like making fun of the light sabers in Star Wars.
