Very good professors with high research output in diffeqs are usually confined to being at noncompetitive colleges who get their funding slashed every other year. I go to a very generic state college, and my diffeq prof put out 4 research papers in 2019 alone, he could've taught at a top 20 school if it wasn't for the fact that PDEs are his exclusive area of research.
