Since I started reading into it I've been getting this feeling that math might actually be really fucking important unto itself like.. existentially or whatever. Philosophy and mathematics are the two most important subjects starting out. Master high school math then pick up physics also. The unexamined life is not worth living and the path of knowledge offers unfathomable returns.

My college offers applied math with computing degree (basically applied math major and cs minor) and also a computer science degree (just a standalone cs major). Which do you think i should get? Will applied math be important in the future, along with computation? Or should i just go for cs

Physics is more important and fundamental than math. Math is just the language to display information. Physics is the study of said information itself.

You need to know both but realize that this "existentially or whatever" is the physics underneath it all.

Like, there are mathematical physicists in math departments...I don't know what you're trying to say with this. You're not gonna dunk on anyone with your undergrad knowledge lol. Mathematicians prioritize their mathematics the most, but that's not to say they don't study or care about anything else. This idea that problem solving is reducible to a bank of knowledge is a very undergrad, very engineering student type mentality

I find math interesting but I mostly want to have an understanding so I can apply it while learning other subjects.

I'm an absolute brainlet, currently using khan academy to remember the shit I forgot back in highschool.

At what point would I be 'ready' to start studying physics? I'm still reviewing geometry now and then I'll go on to trig and calc.
