Why do tards need so many book recs? Most intro books are the same. Just go the library and flip through some books, find one you like, read and do exercises. Is this really that difficult?

Artin is probably more your speed. Dummit and Foote are pretty standard these days but I personally find them too conversational and not rigorous enough for my tastes.

I'd say go D&F<Artin<Hungerford<Lang in terms of difficulty.
