Is it possible for a human being to study all day? It is possible for a human being be good at art, programming, math?

Today I wrote a nice vocal harmony song with some classic rock guitars on it. Played around for a few hrs in the studio. Can play drums piano guitar etc and sing a bit and songwrite. Would be very good compared to how I am now if I dedicated my life to it but i didnt see a viable route to stable wealth for a family and other goals in this cultural climate.

Define "good"

There's too much to know everything. I'm a software engineer, and difficult to be good at everything within software engineering itself. You can be up to date with concurrent and distributed systems research, but that won't leave any time to be an expert on computational statistics. I read philosophy on my spare time, but I am a complete amateur. Its not a matter of discipline, it's a matter of limited hours in a day. Not to mention your intelligence deteriorates with time.

It is possible to study all day though. That's just discipline.

I play Zombie games while hearing about chemistry. Try to connect some activities. If you are not trying to do too much of one you will even have fun with this. Try to do it like back in school. Change what you study after 2 hours if you have nothing, that takes you longer. When you take a bath then read a book. When you brush your teeth or go on toilet hear a lesson. Try to sleep with a spoken book about science once in a week. And listen to music from time to time. You can memorize words with musicm so this will help you learning too. It´s then not just a pausation to hear music, but a mnemonic trick.
