Why is our current climate reaching "dangerous levels" if it's been warmer in the past many times and the biosphere and mammal thrived during those warm times?

well two reasons.
1) obviously the sea levels would impact human settlements more than animals who don't live in e.g. cities that would be underwater
2) the rate of change is higher this time than in most past climate change events, and a faster change is potentially more dangerous to lifeforms and ecosystems since they would have to adapt faster than in the past

1) What about during the midievil warming period where it's been recorded that vikings took boats to green land through the arctic where ice sheets exist today. this along with tree ring proxies suggest it was about 1 degree warmer then than it is today and this was a natural warming. Humans can't stop natural warming cycles. don't get 30 year mortgages on the coast.

2. There is evidence that during the PETM cycle the earth heated up about 5 full degrees within just 13 years based on proxy data probably due to a comet. This warm period is where our earliest primate ancestors came from.

The PETM was just a global warming phenomenon, it was great for the biosphere.
