>>11093971arithmetic is cool faggot. nothing is very interesting about quantum. It's not a cool word, it's a descriptive one. People just happen to think that things that are quantum are cool due to the use in sci-fi.
If you heard arithmetic or basic algebra in sci-fi it would probably be cool to the laymen, but honestly I don't feel like getting my field absolutely infested with greasy reddit kunts talking about "hurt durr I wanna major in quantum mechanics and string theory"
mixing the retarded public with a naturally intelligent field is a bad thing.

I remember in the beginning of my undergrad I thought I was so fucking cool because I took vector calculus in high school through a community college, and I did a lot of self study and absolutely got churches when trying to approach graduate level texts. My ego was killed. I thought I was a big shot genius guy, but when I found out I couldn't understand fucking "basic algebra" I felt more demoralized than that high school girl that got raped by all the line men and was convinced by the school to not press charges.
Math is very humbling in my opinion. Other fields can get really confident with money, recognition, and public appeal, but to me I treat it like an art and an experience.
Being better than someone has nothing to do with it, I just love it, it's fun. I couldn't imagine doing anything else, money just isn't as valuable to me as being alive and happy.

>hurr durr I took algebra in high schoolyour family sounds like a bunch of engineers.
You know my step father called me a fucking incel for holding the opinion that not all math requires application to be interesting, he's an engineer and called me an incel again while going to what Joker.
what an ass.
