I imagine strongly that younger people arent as familiar with trouble and struggles as older doctors and are thusly more susceptible to mental instability relating to it. So the younger doctors seem like they are more likely to kill themselves. What is said about older doctors because THEY made it to old age.
I believe personally that its the younger doctors that kill themselves, the ones in their thirties. they're the ones that come from a weaker generation. BUT how long has the "doctors kill themselves" meme been around? This must not be a recent thing if its so common. Has this been a problem since say...the 80s or 70s? because only then would it suggest that the practice of being a doctor itself is so stressful that it results in suicide.
