I agree, the American university model is an utter clusterfuck, it was designed to make money. And we shouldn't even go into the leftist bureaucracies. But what the fuck are you going to do about it OP? I'd like to see you put forward a system that would actually function to the benefit of everyone affected by it AND then implement it in just one country.

Yeah, pretty much. I had a consultant walk into work yesterday and start going off about his degree from Berkeley. Imagine your typical stuck-up Taiwanese recent college grad. He was totally lost by the stuff I was working on, and suggested some lame textbook shit that I had tried earlier and got bad results with. Pedigree is inversely associated with creativity.
