Does nobody else think it's weird that we have internal, likely conscious, circuits within our brain that are completely disconnected independent and can form their own thoughts and emotions but are completely separate from the circuits we consciously live and think with every day?
There's literally "other people" inside us that can receive and process information but never express themselves, possibly even aware of the situation they're in. Imagine the horror.
Not only that but the idea that we might have bacteria inside of us sending signals to our brain to convince us what we "like" and "don't like", especially with food, that actually just do this for the benefit of the bacteria, is also insane. Feels like real science fiction.
