>>11091711The problem with these science popularizers is pretty much that they never admit when something is outside of their expertise (even in the broad field, i.e. physics). Any real scientist doing current research, if asked about some other subset of their field, will almost always say "well here's the basics but beyond that I don't really know so I can't answer your question, go ask [colleague] who's an expert in this stuff."
The number of times all these fuckers have misrepresented my specialty of physics pisses me off, and I only hear about what they say if somebody else happens to bring it to my attention, so who knows how often they do it. It's just so oversensationalized, so inaccurately explained, etc.
