I'm not sure what board this belongs on, but does anyone know how nuclear waste is handled? Is there any particular way to access it?

That's not nearly as important, though - what are the best ways to purify waste elements and nuclides? I'd like to see if there's a way to use gaseous wastes to produce pure metals more readily, and some other applications.
