In any wave-like system there are conjugate properties that cannot be fully resolved like a particle. Basically, think of a wave as a "blurry" or "stretched out" particle. The properties of the particle lose exactness when "blurred." When you try to resolve one part of this "blurryness" you lose resolution of the conjugate part.

wave humps are possible particle locations
many humps => crisp momentum, blurry location
localized hump => crisp location, blurry momentum
note that a localized hump is the fourier sum of like infinite crisp momentum wavelengths
