Psychedelics allow people to temporarily see the world without the beliefs instilled in them by society. When he sobers up he goes back to his normal social life which values hygiene.
Hippies get high and see the world without the beliefs instilled in them from mainstream society, then they sober up and go back to their social circle of other hippies who don't care about hygiene. They entirely abandon the beliefs of mainstream society in order to pick up the beliefs of hippy circles.
The only way to see the truth of the world while sober is to distance yourself from other people. This includes 4chan as well. The people on 4chan are filled with biases and judgements and belief in myths, and these things rub off on you with prolonged exposure.
