Western medicine loves isolates, but it's actually very counter intuitive. I'll give you an example, ephedrine in certain plants used in traditional Chinese medicine had been artificially selected to have other compounds in the alkaloid profile, one compound lowered heart rate and blood pressure etc. Also contained potentiators and synergists ;)
So when you isolated just the ephedrine you get a trash drug no where near as effective,
You need to mix the ashwaghanda with other herbs to make it powerful.
It's really arcane when you do it.
But individual herbs are very weak on their own.
Do your own research it's pretty easy.
