First of all, how have you noticed "Toasties" are asking for math help. Have any of them asked you for math help?

Because all throughout undergrad and grad school not once have I noticed anyone beg anyone for help, even at the stupid tutorial sessions. They either get into groups and talk or copy each other. Hell, I've seen a decent amount of baby tier math study groups in the library using the whiteboards.

This. Sometimes people ask me for help when they have a question, sometimes they're female, and sometimes I ask others for help when I have a question. That's just the way things go. Other than that, I've never seen anyone willingly do anyone else's actual schoolwork without some form of compensation (i.e. Me doing my bro's hw for $ in 11th grade, and that's the only example I have).
