Wanna hear a gem i came across studying physics and chemistry? Things fall and accelerate while they fall, water melts and stuff. Why did some dumb scientist have to prove that? To make it clear as a fact, of course. It's not like science's whole thing is to separate useful knowledge from common sense. Knowing simple things like that one you mentioned may not seem impressive at first, but the amalgamation of them give you knowledge and relative power over people.
I, as an example, have this pet theory of mine that the human brain first recognize people and and objects as the same thing. That would imply that while we also experience similar feelings like the happiness of owning, the fear of losing, the sense of control from both humans and objects, people just happen to give us more complex reactions due to our incapability to fully "own" people and their inert unpredictability.
I would try borrowing some help from neuroscience and map the reactions convict psychopaths, sociopaths and autists have when shown the 2.
It may seem simple and even common sense for some of you autists on /sci/, but just the implication of it being a fact could change how we see other humans and how we would approach using them.
