Want to make a small Aerospike rocket engine with Hydrogen Peroxide. Couldnt find anything about which catalyst was used, so I assumed it was Manganese Dioxide. BUT, I am pretty unfamiliar with aerospikes. Do I just pack the Manganese Dioxide at the bottom of the spike so it'll collide with the Hydrogen Peroxide? Also, this may sound stupid but should I atomize the Hydrogen Peroxide prior to catalyst contact?

not sure but doesn't the mixture create permanganate which can be used with sugar as rocket fuel?

If you're just doing this as a hobby you're not going to be able to find peroxide thats concentrated enough. You'd have better luck using fuming nitric as your oxidizer. Pretty dangerous but far easier to make and far better performance.

He could also use nitrous oxide and an electric heating element. Nitrous oxide is easy to get and safer to handle than peroxide. While it has lackluster performance, it should be good enough for a hobbyist.

As for the aerospike design. That's pretty complicated. If OP is set on using an aerospike, then he should just try to match the general geometry of a preexisting design as I think the equations that govern aerospike design are pretty complicated.

Start with a standard bell nozzle, aerospikes are very tricky.
