It's a matter of whether or not the nature of the universe can be quantized into bits like bits in a computer, even though that's not the case as the universe's basic structure are waves and dimensions ala an analog radio. It's only abstracted into bits and digital data so people can more easily understand and access it, which is why thinking the nature of reality is just information storage is wrong because information is static whereas waves (and all dimensions above 1) are dynamic.
