>>11082073>Science behind promiscuity?Having many children increases your tribe's chance of survival and increases genetic diversity by potentially giving rise to mutations.
It makes sense for men to be promiscuous, especially if they are an alpha. That way you are keeping a consistent population by compensating for the men that don't reproduce while giving the next generation the best genes available. Female promiscuity doesn't really make sense since they can only have 1 child at a time while men can have multiple.
But nowadays promiscuity just comes down to abuse of the pleasure of sex. You get pleasure from sex for the above reasons. Orgasms and the urge for them encourage animals to have sex hence reproduce.
>should someone who doesn't sleep a lot not be with someone who's had a lot of partners? It depends on why they've had multiple partners, but it's generally a red flag. Are they just horny? Might seem like a positive now, but what happens when they get bored of you? Multiple partners is a sign of a difficult to commit to things, or a sign that they cause difficulty for partners.
Most importantly of all, if they've already had multiple partners, what makes you think you'll be different? I'm sure all the guys before also thought they were different and that the relationship would actually last.
There would be a fundamental personality difference between someone who's promiscuous and someone who's not. That difference may not seen apparent now but you will get glimpses of it over time. A difference that will slowly grow more obvious the more time you spend with them. My question is: why would you spend your time on someone so fundamentally different to you when you could find someone who is actually like you. Are you really going to settle down with someone just trying to find their next fling?
