Can someone explain to me how my physics teacher did this? Switching t^2 with h, because time is the unknown variable, but why flip the equation? Why isn't it -t^2 now on the left? Helpppppp this is my first physics class

Flipping an equation doesn't make it negative, in fact it does nothing, 2+2=4 and 4=2+2 are the exact same thing. If it confuses you then don't flip it. Just multiply both sides by 2/g to cancel out everything on the t^2 side and you'll get 2h/g=t^2
