Since antiproton has a negative electric charge, it needs to have a sertain minimum amount of energy in order to penetrate electron shell of an ordinary atom. And if antiproton can't pass through electron shell, than it can't annihilate with protons inside nuclei. But if that's the case, then why can't we just store antiprotons as a very cold gas?
