>>11081317It's really not bullshit. The problem is that it allows a lot of bullshit, and stupid, useless people can enter the field, it can't filter that so well compared to a hard science. But it's in essence an empirical effort, and it should be recognized for that effort, and the mere presence of bullshit researchers does not really justify the idea that the whole field is just wrong and/or useless in some absolute sense. Seriously, just think about it.
Not only are biology/neuroscience not adequate replacements for psychology currently, but it's possible such a may never come. Our relationship with our biology is flexible, and the human experience is flexible. At the very least, psychology has a lot to inform for harder sciences. Abundant cues for correction and new research.
The lack of harmony between research fields is blocking progress.
