>>11080752It really depends on where you are in math. Most mainstream algebraic geometry tends to focus on commutative rings, because algebraic geometry gets really fucking gross when you try to work over a ring that isn't commutative.
On the other extreme, pretty much all of something like representation theory deals more or less fundamentally with (usually very) noncommutative objects.
