Complex numbers are algebraically closed. Every polynomial of degree n has exactly n solutions. That's immensely useful for basically everything.

Plus what's the point of anything in math? Mathematicians don't care about the applications of their language, they just like playing around with a bunch of abstract symbols with a set of axioms and definitions.

Leave engineers and phycists to figure out a use.
