Also as a general natural law nothing exists without a predator, making a machine like this is just too complicated, how does it get it's energy? How does it repair,
And more than likely it's going to mutate and begin fighting itself, also it will be out evolved by bacterial and other would be pathogens. Pathogens don't mess around.

Life is not the same thing as nano machines. Life doesn’t use the same materials or processes as nano machines, and life evolves, it isn’t made, so if you’re going to argue that Grey goo can’t exist because that hasn’t evolved in life, that’s dumb.

I did, till I studied nano tech.
Turns out water acts like super glue on such a small scale and EMP resistance drops by orders of magnitude by size. Then there is insuring the right elemental ratio so it can "eat" and replicate fast enough for people to actually care.

Now a bacteria, virus or micro bots (think mm not nm). Those could kill us all, but we already have counter measures planned so it is unlikely to kill more than a billion at best if we actually take action. Natural sources tend to favor a equilibrium, not complete extermination. And man made ones all have design flaws because the people making this don't want to die.

Grey goo is pure sci-fi. Oh, I'm not saying you can't make a construct that would be able to create a grey goo in a perfect protected environment for it. What I'm saying is that the instant you release it into a real world environment it will fail to create a grey goo problem. Nature is fucking harsh.

More sci-fi. EMPs that would affect them would mean they are so fucking weak to EMPs that being exposed to anything would cause more interference with them than they could overcome.

Correct, even UV from a black light party lamp would be enough energy flux to fry them. A larger EMP would be complete over kill.

So they could be destroyed on a bright sunny day or completely immobilize by rain. Really makes them a lot less threatening if they can only kill under a limited number of conditions, still would use caution as they can be dangerous if not careful.

A bacteriophage. A specialized virus that can only attack, infiltrate and take over bacteria (that have the corresponding protein channels to the phage's 'feet'). It literally cant do anything to your cells except be crushed to a fine aminoacid paste and devoured.
That's not to say you'll be fine if you drink a beaker full of them, because you have gut bacteria that aid you in digestion, and these would be attacked.

This and I think it shows there is no one size fits all. How do you make a machine that can simply convert any organic matter into something useable, nature tends towards specialization, it's better to stick to your niche than waste energy on the situational.

Also these machines look like they are metallic machines not organic, an organic machine has form and function built into one, maybe it's just to be illustrative though.

They also would need to survive predators, I'm sure there's something out there that would just eat these things.
