This is false as a point has no length which makes this reduction undefined mathematically.
What has really been illustrated is that the projected lengths in a Cartesian plan can be reduced to be infinitesimally small and still be the same total length.
In summary, all that has really been done is show that a circle has a same projected area in a Cartesian plane regardless of how infinitesimally small you discretize the line.
Regardless of how far you would zoom in, you would still see that you are forming normal angles with discrete x and y length.
