>got B.S. in physics from a top 10 program in the USA, highest honors.
>loved quantum mechanics, took like 6 classes of just quantum.
>ditch grad school at the last second because I didn't want to waste 3 months of my life studying for the P-GRE.
>decide to join the dying semiconductor industry
>work with a bunch of old people and retards
>pay is ok, not great
>feel like I'm smarter than everyone else at work
>feel like I'm doing basic shit that has no significance or lasting impact
>don't use any elegant math anymorr
>see many of my friends and peers --many of whom seemed to struggle in uni -- make more money than me at easy CS jobs
I wanted to be a scientist bros...
