Something must hit me. In many of my CS classes, the professor will frequently use memes, sometimes somewhat funny, in their slides. I didn’t really notice at first, but now I suddenly feel like it’s because the professors think CS students are so fucking spergy/autistic that they NEED memes in their slides in order to get the points across. Now that I think about it, literally no other subject I’ve ever taken has memes in the slides. Not engineering, not math, not physics, nor even the lib arts gen eds.
What the fuck? I’m a student at a highly rated research university, not some kid on twitter looking for his next quick meme fix. It feels condescending, there’s no way these professors unironically enjoy said memes themselves.
Anyone else know that “memes in the CS slides” feel?
