I still apply physics to biological phenomena, specifically to collect tangible data that cells produce, in a way that biologists do not. You really should not resent me, there is plenty of funding, in fact I know that my grad physics program has far fewer applicants than spots available simply due to people not applying, likely due to being psyched out. It's a weird ass phenomena.
Plus you shouldn't hate me, I'm removed from "physics", I am now solidly in biology. My undergrad degree has 0 impact or matter on my work now, no one knows it unless they specifically ask or I am introduced for a talk.
