This is a subject under study by researchers at NASA and by a few small private teams,based off of widely discussed theoretical work going back multiple decades.

It's interesting that merely proposing this as a potential explanation resulted in such a strong response. For the record, I think it's more likely that the sightings are a result of equipment malfunction and operator confusion than aliens or advanced aerospace tech. But I don't throw out an idea because it sounds wild-ball lightning sounded wild enough that people hypothesized it was an electromagnetism-created hallucination, and then we caught it on video. I'm not telling you to send your money to the lunatics who think aliens control the government and talk to them through their filings-but remember the universe was billions of years old when we were still a molten lump of slag around a dusty young sun. That's a loooooot of time for things that aren't us to figure things out.

I think most people are just off-put by the very obnoxious and afactual currents of conspiracy theory that run through the community of people that seek to understand UFOs. There are more serious people involved who actively seek out alternative hypothesis rather than turning every strange light in the sky into a scout craft from Zeta Reticuli,but they are rare and drowned out by those sensationalistic voices. To the point that someone like me simply stating that the alleged behavior of these "craft" might be consistent with a hypothetical type of space travel under some level of scrutiny by aerospace researchers, with a stated caveat that I wasn't saying that's definitely what it was, can still get treated like i'm wearing a "I WANT OT BELIEVE" shirt while ranting about the jew-reptilian alliance.

95% of the universe is a total mystery to us. Our two great fundamental theorems of reality are fundamentally incompatible. Keep an open mind. i'm not asking anyone to start believing these are alien craft-I DON'T EVEN BELIEVE THAT-but remain open to unknown possibilities.

I've never claimed this idea will bear fruit, only that, IF these sightings were of an actual craft,that would seemingly be the best explanation of its ability to preform accelerations that would turn any organic being into soup. The topic is still toxic because there is no real middle ground between people that have been directly exposed to something not explainable by current physics and the ones who seek to debunk everything related to the topic based on current physics.

I try to stand somewhere in the middle, a quite difficult task.

Especially the mentioned Roswell Incident may be the most poisoned story out there despite witness testimonies from people who were directly involved. I never took it seriously until i watched them.

Then how was the carrier strike group able to track them on radar? How could the pilots observe them? How was it possible that the descriptions from the pilots collaborated what was seen on radar?

It's really interesting, this TicTac scenario. I often think about it. It keeps me up, there's certainly a lot of content within it. I think more podcasts should cover it. I certainly am not the victim here, it´s the topic itself which is very unfortunate. I am genuinely interested in what is going on with this phenomenon but i don´t see how convenctional explanations could solve it in a satisfying way since there are technical and physical problems involved we don´t even remotely have an answer for.

Also i am not interested in what somewhat reasonable people like you deem to be acceptable thinking. I never liked to be contained in a box. That´s what almost everyone is preferring since no one likes to be ridiculed. The Flir1 "acceleration" is an artifact of camera zoom, at the moment ATFLIR loses lock on the target. This has been discussed already in the previous thread, but for anybody here who missed that one, here is the Flir1 vid corrected for zoom. The last few seconds are where the illusion of acceleration is, but watch all of it if it interests you.

There is no acceleration of the object there.

Unknown propulsion is not on the list of 5, so I didn't address it. But let's do it now.

I see no "unknown form of propulsion" in Flir1 or Gimbal -- we know how jet airplanes get their propulsion. Gimbal is confirmed as a jet becasue we are looking at the IR flare typical of jet aircraft flying away -- we are "seeing" the IR heat of the engine. Flir1, does not show IR flare, indicating that if it is a conventional jet aircraft. we're not looking "up it's asshole." However, since it does nothing during the time it is in the video that we have that is on consistent with a jet aircraft, that is a likely explanation. Even if it is NOT a jet, nothing that it does shows any evidence of the use of unknown source of propulsion.

The propulsion of "Go Fast" is harder to evaluate -- it is drifting at a speed that would be consistent with the wind speed at its altitude, which is about 13,000 feet. It does not maneuver while being tracked. There is no evidence it is using propulsion at all, known or unknown. You can label that "Unknown Propulsion" if you like, but if it has it it has not demonstrated it so that we can observe it.

And there's absolutely no chance at all that it could have been drones, I live in a poor country, people, even the richer ones DON'T have the money for this kind of thing, and the type of light on the balls wasn't bright like the ones from drones either. Absolutely nothing of this makes any sense.

This is the 2 or 3rd time at most, I saw something that looked like a comet a few years ago, but it was moving and made turns, which satellites for example, wouldn't be able to, and yes I know the difference between something that looks like a shooting star and a comet. I wouldn't have believed it either if a few days later I hadn't seen a recording of it.

It's impossible that what I saw on either case was either a drone or an airplane, I see airplanes far too frequently for that, over 20 every single day, on both national routes, which are relatively low in altitude, and international routes, which are WAAAY higher. I'm used to seeing them, I'm used to their noises. It's like seeing ducks your entire life, and then you see a different bird, sure, you cannot tell what you saw, but you can definitely tell that it's not a duck. And again, there aren't drones in my country.

At some point when the behavior is so different, it's harder to explain a flying craft as a plane\drone than something else.

Some things I take from this.

1) How foreign military may react, if at all.

2) What attempts they will make to breach US military security with cyber attacks aimed at getting hold of classified information related to this event.

3) What physical attempts they may make to physically investigate the event themselves, such as sending out one of their newest subs into the area.

This then becomes the real exercise for the US forces. To detect and thwart a specific cyber attack. To detect and appraise the capability of foreign military assets in the area.

I expect an invitation to work for the CIA as a result of my intelligent guess work.

If I'm wrong on this account then I would second that this is some disinformation campaign put together by the US military for some fucking reason or other. It could be something as simple as tracking the attributes of the dissemination of information through the media channels.

OK, here's a real event that happened during the early eighties that's never been disclosed to the American public.
The U.S. military has always been interested in the UFO phenomena since day one, especially the airforce and navy. The number one priority has always been to capture a UFO. The sad fact, for those of us who would very much like to see some proof of ET life before we die, is that there is nothing in the three Navy vids released by TTSA that supports that conclusion. In none of the three vids do we see anything particularly unusual, nothing that rules out the conclusion that they are mundane objects.

COULD they be "real UFOs," whether Ayys or time travelers or other-dimensional vsitors or whatever? Sure, they could; they could be mimicking planes and balloons and such to prevent us from recognizing them. But there is no evidence in the vids for that.

"Go fast" is not "just over the water." Do the math based on angle to target, range to target and altitude of the jet, it is at around 13,000 feet.

It then goes into "let's talk about video we don't have."

"It almost moves like a gyroscope." Yeah, it rotates. At the moment the camera rotates past "gimbal lock," as other camera-generated artifeacts rotate as well (see gif) The rotation is an artifact of the gimbal mount of the ATFLIR system -- that is likely why the video was named "Gimbal" by somebody who recognized what they were looking at.

I thought the interesting part of that was when they talked about "seeing lots of UFOs and having fun sharing the vids when they got back o the ship. I have always wondered at the attitude of the crew during the vids -- now I think I understand. They are have a vid to show when they got back to the ship, they can be part of the game that is going on.

Whether that might account for them not identifying the jet on their screen, or talking about "fleets" of them for which we have no vid, I guess we each get to decide what we think about that for ourselves.

The ASA seems to be their Situational awareness page of their radar (keep in mind that this Gimbal video was taken in 2014 and the US Navy had F-18F the latest variant in the F-18 family that has upgraded radar sensors compared to the F-18's from the 2004 where only the ship based AEGIS system could detect those "objects").
Of course all the radar footage is classified, now I'd like to work in the Navy to check all that radar data.

There's a long history of cases in ufology of UFO's dumping material out (cases where people see UFO's that look like they are about to crash, then they dump out material, which is always extremely hot, and then they fly off) and supposedly this material is what TTSA has in its possesion.

I sincerely think that this is good advice. However, that does not mean that you ought to take unsupported claims about video clips at face value, or to believe every eyewitness report of anything unusual unquestioningly.

I would love for there to be some good evidence of Ayys before I die. That would be absolutely thrilling for me. But I have not yet -- certainly these three vids are not evidence of anything unusual. no matter how determined some people are to either misinterpret them or just lie about them.

I disagree. There have been UFO flaps for years. There have been eyewitness accounts unsubstantiated by evidence that can be analyzed for years. There have been hoaxes such as Cmdr. Fravor says he used to pull for years. There have been honest observations by military personnel and trained pilots since at least WWII.

If the Nimitz and Roosevelt groups were having repeated, long term, close contacts with TicTacs and shit for months, I'd like to see some vid to support that. None of the three vids we have do so.

If they were seeing "craft" accelerating at impossible velocities, I'd like to see evidence supporting that. We have not.

If they saw "craft" making impossible maneuvers, I'd like to see evidence to support that. We have not.

That is not to say that the eyewitness stories absolutely are not be true. They may be 100% true and accurate for all I or you know. Or they may not.

But this is not /x/, this is /sci/. Here, extraordinary claims call for SOME evidence (preferably lots of it, and really high quality, but any at all would be nice.)

Eyewitness testimony may be good enough for you. If so, that is fine. You do you. But to establish something that seems to overthrow vast swaths of what we know about physics, you need more than that.

It is a valid point that, because this is the military, they may have evidence that we are never going to see unless it suits them. They very well might. Or, it is important to remember, they may not.

Unless and until we have some good evidence, then we will continue not having good evidence. Unfortunate, but that's just how it is.

Yes. And we have no vid showing "a whole fleet of them."

What I repeatedly notice about UFO reports is that the evidence always just misses capturing the interesting stuff.

In these cases, we have vid in which nothing inexplicable happens, but we are assured that eyewitnesses SAW all sorts of crazy speeds and maneuvers. We have vid of distant targets that show up as indistinct blurred spots, but are assured that on other occaissins. for which we have no video, they got real close and you could see things like the two little L-shaped projections on Fravor's Tic Tac.

And we have "whole fleets of them," that don;t make the vids we have.

At some point, that starts to become suggestive.

Or maybe tomorrow TTSA will release a great vid showing a while fleet of TicTacs passing very close to a plane, and we can see the surface of the object clearly, and the world will be changed.

Check back tomorrow, we'll see if that happens.

But I would want some good evidence for that. I suspect you would to, if I were to start posting about intelligent tree-creatures in my backyard.

COULD "Gimbal," for example, be a interdimensional vehicle that just happens to mimic the appearance of a jet exhaust seen on an IR camera, and just happens to rotate right as the camera filming it rotates? Sure, it could be. But there is no evidence of it.

COULD the "Go Fast" target be capable of skimming along at incredible speeds beyond anything our current (known) technology could match? Sure, that could be the case... but the video do not show it doing that.

The videos do not show ANY of the extraordinary claims made by eye witnesses.

The eyewitnesses COULD have every detail that they report correct. We just have no evidence to back them up.

The fact that other camera artifacts in the frame also rotate at that same instant does not seem significant to you? the fact that a video showing a "mysterious" rotation in a target that happens when the camera rotates past gimbal lock is NAMED Gimbal does not seem suggestive to you?

I think it is also due to the massive amount of confusion the media have created over this -- including one instance where Fravor is shown the Gimbal vid by an interviewer who says it is video of Fravor's sighting and asks him to walk them through it. When he tries to explain that this is not from his flight, the interviewer over-rides him and changes the subject.

I also recall earlier excitement among some folks about the Meme Drive, on the basis that "NASA is looking at it, so there must be something there." Turns out there was nothing there.

I don't see how "Army agrees to look at materials TTSA has" has any scientific significance, in and of itself (and since this is /sci/ and all.) What with the Army being secretive and all, IF they find anything unusual, or if they find it's all mundane stuff, I doubt we'll ever hear what they find. It is important for the Army to keep anything useful out of the hands of the enemy, aka the Navy.

Given Delong's operation is a for profit undertaking, I also wonder if this is an effort to seem more legit in order to attract investors. "We're working with the Army" sounds more investor-friendly than "We have some UFO material for which we have shared no chain of custody."

But again, I could be reading more into it than is justified.

As I mentioned somewhere above, I'd love to find out that We Are Not Alone. What TTSA has shown us so far does not impress me, but who knows, maybe this stuff will do it. We'll see what, if anything, comes of it.
